Key Stage 1 provides for children aged between 5 and 8 years. Within Key Stage 1 at MAHSA International School we strive to provide a safe, friendly, supportive and caring environment to maximize our students’ learning potential. The Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme provides a natural progression for children from primary education to develop their knowledge and skills with a special focus in Mathematics, English and Science. It offers a curriculum framework for educational success for learners, typically 11-14 years old, with an assessment testing structure similar to Cambridge Primary, GL Progression Tests and Cambridge Checkpoint tests.

In Key Stage 4, students at MAHSA International School, enter their last stage in compulsory education and, over these two years, they are prepared for the examinations of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). An in-depth approach is taken in each subjects studied. Some of them are compulsory and decisions must be made as to which optional subjects are to be taken.

A significant number of learners enter MAHSA International School with a low proficiency level in English. Given the fact that these learners are in the digital age where they are bombarded with various information, they need both basic and advanced skills to allow them to critically analyze information they receive and to contribute to the school and wider community. The primary goal of the MESH Programme is to provide non and limited English Proficient students with support and intensive instruction in English, which will allow them to become successful in the mainstream classroom and the school environment.

Cambridge International AS and A Levels are international in outlook but retain a local relevance. The syllabuses provide opportunities for contextualized learning and the content has been created to suit a wide variety of schools, avoid cultural bias and develop essential lifelong skills, including creative thinking and problem-solving. Their aim is to balance knowledge, understanding and skills in qualifications which enable candidates to become effective learners and to provide a solid foundation for their continuing educational journey.
